African Weekend at Olveston on April 25th and 26th 2009
We were treated to a very moving, tuneful and energetic concert by the choir from Zimbabwe on Saturday evening. A good audience enjoyed the very special and memorable, highly participative concert.
Next morning there was a good turnout for an African Communion in church, ably led by Chris Dobson our Global Diocesan Leader backed up by the wonderful Zimbabwe choir.
Part of the choir support team prepared a splendid African Lunch that was enjoyed by many in the parish Hall before impromptu singing and dancing that involved everyone!
In the evening Bishop Alphonse from Nebbi, Uganda, who had been with us all weekend preached at a service ahead of the church annual meeting.
A very busy, joyful and unforgettable weekend.
