On Saturday 13th July St Mary’s was graced by Bristol Sinfonietta yet again. About 140 people arrived to listen to wonderful music from some 25 members of the orchestra under their charismatic conductor, Stefan Hofkes.
The first piece was the Hallelujah Chorus with the church choir giving choral accompaniment. This was followed by works by Mozart, Haydn and Mendelssohn.
Haydyn’s Trumpert Concerto was performed by 20 year old Jacob Smith who even at this age is world renowned. He studies under 3 mentors at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
