Please support this year’s

Christian Aid Week 10-16th May.
Every £30 you give could buy a farmer a wheelbarrow to work his small holding.
Please give generously, it would be nice to know how many wheelbarrow

equivalents we can buy across the churches in North Severnside

Christian Aid Week: ‘Buy a Wheelbarrow’ Donations

St Mary’s  has had a tradition of fund-raising, and in recent years we have selected two charities every two years: Home and Away charities, a local charity and one in a different country.
This year we wanted not to forget those in other countries, those who are struggling far more than we are, because they live in more crowded conditions, they cannot isolate, they are poorer, some do not have access to good running water, let alone oxygen supplies, ventilators, PPE, good food distribution systems etc. What can we do to help?

Christian Aid recently used the idea of wheelbarrow-amounts. £30 would buy a wheelbarrow. If you have a garden you know how important a wheelbarrow is. But now the world is changing, and priorities are changing too. Each “wheelbarrow” amount you donatewill give a family a hygiene kit and safe water, things we consider fundamental necessities. Can you give £30? Please see details elsewhere on this news sheet for how to donate. Thanks everyone!

Christian Aid Week: ‘Buy a Wheelbarrow’ Donations

In view of the current difficulties, fundraising for Christian Aid Week this year is being co-ordinated on a North Severnside basis, with donations being made to St Mary’s Olveston acting on behalf of the whole Benefice. Wherever possible, it would be appreciated if donations could be made by bank transfer to the St Mary’s bank account, the details of which are:

Sort Code: 40-52-40

Account Number: 00029936

Please use the reference “Christian Aid”

If you wish to Gift Aid your donation, please let me know by e-mail at dlprothero@talk21.com.

However, if payment by this means is not possible, then cheques, payable to “St Mary’s PCC Olveston”, should be sent to Rev. David Moss at St Helen’s Vicarage, again with an indication as to whether you wish to Gift Aid your donation.

Many thanks.

David Prothero, Treasurer, St Mary’s Church Olveston
