At its last meeting in January the Honorary Treasure, David Prothero, advised that the church finances for 2019/20 would probably be in deficit to the order of around £7,000.
The PCC was concerned and decided to form a Stewardship Committee which would look closely at our finances.
This committee (Rev Steve Oram, David Prothero, David Shaw, Bernard Amos, Mike Wright and Martin Gibson) met on 4th February. Their remit was to analyse all day to day running expenditure to see if savings could be made and to identify new ideas on how income might be increased.
A number of areas of both potential increases in income and cost cutting were identified. The committee members agreed to deliberate on the ideas raised with a view to presenting a paper with its recommendations to the next PCC meeting in March.
