When Storm Ciera hit us over the weekend of 8th & 9th February it caused considerable damage across the country. In Tockington at the Parish Hall, two lamp standards were blown over necessitating urgent electrical safety work. This was carried out by contractors on behalf of the Parish Council.
The lamp posts are due to be re-erected in the next 2 weeks.
And then came Storm Dennis. Overnight on Saturday 15th the winds broke a major branch of the ancient yew tree in the churchyard above the South entrance path. This tree dates back 600 years.
Tree contractors have been instructed to cut down the broken section.
