The Diocese’ new Archdeacon, Rev Neil Warwick, gave his sermon on Sunday 8th December to more than 60 worshippers.
Neil spoke personally of his love for ornithology and wove it into a sermon revolving around the experiences of 3 disparate people, one of whom was himself. God, he said, was better appreciated in our lives than being in a cage, in the same way that birds flying free are at their most wonderful.
He also mentioned his support for Nottingham Forest football club which was not fully appreciated by all and sundry.
After the service he sat and enjoyed coffee with many of the congregation. A man of the people.
